More than eleven years ago, when we purchased our
first two llamas, we had no idea how they would change our lives. People asked,
“Why llama’s?” We would answer, “Why not!”
We lived in central Florida. Our
home was on the water in a deed restricted community. Sam
had a career spanning 26 years in real estate. Frank was a life long
professional boat captain. When we married 12 years ago our plan was to
work another 10 years or so and then retire and travel around the world on a
boat.
Needless to say after bringing the
llama’s home, we came to understand very quickly we either had to move or sell
the llamas. We chose to move. We sold the water front home and purchased a home
in the same community with land and no deed restrictions.
In 2000 while showing llamas in Perry,
GA our life was turned upside down. Frank had a massive stroke.
Again, what to do? Sell the farm and the llamas and move to a small home with
no yard work? No, that was not for us. In 2001 we retired from our
life long careers, loaded up 8 llamas, 2 dogs, 2 goats, 2 cats and with smiles
on our faces, moved to north Georgia.
WITHOUT the llamas, the move would
never have happened. The llamas gave us a reason to continue enjoying life.
They gave us something to focus on and the challenge to develop a raw piece of
land into a mini farm. Needless to say, the animals and the land was all
consuming. There was no time for anything negative to creep into our minds or souls.
So now when I am asked "why llamas" I
say, “Do you have 10 minutes?” Yes, we traded expensive clothes for jeans
and sweats. We go to bed at night tired but with a smile on our faces.
Llamas give us a LOT of beans that have to be cleaned up but they also
give us an equal amount of love. Llamas changed our lives. We invite you to
visit our llama farm, they might change yours too!
Our llamas have been our life for the past 11 years. The pleasure and joy they have given us cannot be measured, but now it is time to offer up some of our best llamas for sale
For a small farm we have been able, year after year, to make our mark in the winner's circle. Our interest is to
place some of our very special llamas in loving and caring homes where they will receive the attention they are use to.
I would like to sell the llamas in groups so therefore I have not provided individual prices. I am more than happy
to provide individual or group prices once your indicate your interest.
